From November 2 to 7, Russia hosted in Kazan the strongest swimmers of the continent, who arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to find out who is worthy of the champion title and victory at various distances in short water.

The Russian national team in the competition was presented both by famous Russian swimming stars in the person of Evgeny Rylov, Kliment Kolesnikov, Maria Kameneva, Vladimir Morozov, and by rising sports stars. And all together, the Russian athletes became winners in the medal standings, finishing with 11 gold, 5 silver, 8 bronze medals, reports the official website of the Olympic Games.

By the way, the two-time Olympic champion – 2021 Evgeny Rylov was left without personal prizes in the tournament, as he was pleased with the team bronze in the 4×50 freestyle relay with Vladimir Morozov, Vladislav Grinev and Kliment Kolesnikov.

But Kliment Kolesnikov shone in the short water. He scored a golden hat-trick, becoming the first in the 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m backstroke. He also took silver in the 4×50 mixed relay and bronze in the 4×50 m freestyle relay.

Distinguished in short waters and Russian swimmers. Moreover, they passed the strong half of the team. The leader of the swim was Anastasia Kirpichnikova, who became a three-time champion – in the 400, 800 and 1500 m freestyle.

In the 200m butterfly, Svetlana Chimrova became the first, and young Evgenia Chikunova was the leader in chest shooting at the same distance. The 16-year-old swimmer also shared the silver medal with the Estonian in the 100 meters.

In two relay races – mixed 4×50 and freestyle 4×50 – the four Russian swimmers also did not draw.

By the way, sports stars Yulia Efimova, Anton Chupkov, Martin Malyutin did not appear in the championship. Of course, the athletes decided to pay attention to the preparations for the World Championship, which will be held in December in Abu Dhabi.
