The Olimpiets sports complex in Vladivostok hosts the championship and swimming championship in the Far East, which are the qualifying beginnings for the Russian Championship, as well as for the international games “Children of Asia”. The competition started on March 8th and ends on Friday, March 11th. More than 200 of the best Far Eastern swimmers participate.

We as the hosts of the international games “Children of Asia” have the right to represent two swimming teams in this tournament, as well as to participate in the selection for the Far East team. The selection for the Russian championship takes place as before. “Based on the results of the regional championships, a list of participants is formed and the top 50 receive tickets for the all-Russian competitions,” he said. Member of the Presidium of the Krai Primorsky Swimming Federation Elena Perepelitsa.

The championship and Far Eastern championship distances are very different: from 50 to 1500 meters in all swimming styles. There was also a relay race for the men and women teams.

“I am a sprinter, I swim 50 meters freestyle, chest. In these competitions I wanted to meet the standard of a candidate for master of sports. He showed his best results here. For example, 50 meters butterfly swam in 27.4 seconds, “he said Vasily Petrishin from Magadan Region.

If some athletes gain experience, then the team leaders have another goal – to win and qualify for the Russian championship. One of the favorites of the Primorsky team Valery Govako won four gold medals in three days of racing.

“Last season was busy, I needed to rest. During the time when there was no start due to coronavirus, we got it. He has already won four gold medals in this tournament. At distances of 100 and 200 meters butterfly, I definitely pass the selection for Russia. “This season, at these distances, he improved his time,” said the swimmer.

Valeria Khairullina from Vladivostok, in addition to victories at various distances, including the women’s relay, set a Far East record in the 50-meter butterfly.

“For 27.68 seconds, I now swam 50 meters butterfly. The previous record was mine too, I improved the time. At this distance in the Far East, I have no equal. I think I qualified for Russia in this “fifty kopecks” as well as at a distance of 50 meters back. “Now we will prepare for the Russian championship and, if possible, for the World Cup stage, but now we do not really count on international competitions,” he said. Valeria Khairullina.

Note that there are currently no official statements that Russian swimmers may be suspended from international competitions. According to the information currently available, the international games “Children of Asia” should also take place – they will be held from July 27 to August 8 and will bring together more than 4 thousand participants from 30 countries.
