The open water swimming championship has started in Anapa – Anapa News

The championship and the championship of Russia in open water swimming takes place at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Change”.

On September 11 the solemn opening ceremony of the championship and the championship of Russia in open water swimming took place.

The participants were greeted by: Sergey Viktorovich Potanin, Head of the Department for the Development of High Performance Sports of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Krasnodar Territory; Leonid Pavlovich Krasnorutsky, Chairman of the Municipal Formation Council of the Tourist City of Anapa; Swimming Federation “Evgeny Ivanovich Muravyov, First Vice President, Executive Director of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation Grigory Pavlovich Stetsyuk.

First Deputy Director Stanislav Rodin read to the audience the greeting speech of the Director of the All-Russian Center “Change” Igor Zhuravlev:

“Dear friends! Competitors, coaches, athletes, judges. On behalf of the All-Russian Children’s Center “Change” and myself, I welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the Russian championship and championship in open water swimming in 2021! Sport is a universal language of communication and friendship that ennobles hearts and inspires good and sincere deeds. Today’s championship is a celebration where all athletes can demonstrate strength, determination and unwavering will to win. Let it take place in an honest and uncompromising fight! I wish the participants to show all the beauty of a wonderful sport – swimming. I am sure that the championship will be remembered for bright victories, interesting recognitions and good impressions from your stay at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Change”!

The competitions in Anapa will last until September 17 and will be the first stage of selection for the participation of athletes in the international open water swimming competitions in 2022 – world and European championships in water sports in Japan and Italy, as well as European Championship in open water swimming.
