The American Athletics Edition has seen a huge increase in the number of NBA viewers on television and social media.
During the 2021-2022 regular season, the average NBA audience on ABC, ESPN and TNT increased by 19% year-over-year. This is 3% higher than the 2019/20 season.
NBA TV has hosted the most regular season since the 17/18 season, with a 23 percent increase in female viewers this year and now a third of the NBA audience.
However, the study’s authors point out that broadcasts over the past few years have shown that NBN does not take into account people who visit bars, hotels or parties. So the audience in the porn season was more than what was recorded in the statistics.
The league has also grown on social media. NBA TikTok collected 481 million video views, up 305 percent from last season. Instagram Reels hit 3.3 billion views, up 259 percent.
The NBA has ended its regular season with over 66 million Instagram followers. It is now the most followed professional sports brand in the world.
The league plans to raise $ 75 billion from the next TV deal, possibly in 2025-26. Current contracts with ESPN and Turner Sports between 2016 and 2025 will generate a total of $ 24 billion for the NBA.
