On the first weekend of the last month of winter, February 5 and 6, the first open winter swimming championship will be held in Moscow on the Rowing Canal in Krylatskoye. According to the Federation of Hardening and Winter Swimming, there have never been competitions of this level in Moscow.

In Soviet times, organizers note, winter swimming competitions were held regularly among amateurs in the Serebryany Bor and sometimes in the Lublin Basins, as well as in Sokolniki. But it was a completely different level and a different story. Thus, racing on the Rowing Canal opens a new page in the history of the sport.

The grand opening will take place on Saturday 5 February at 10:00. The distance swimming itself will be held two days in a row, on February 5 and 6, from 10:00 to 15:00, after which, from 16:00 to 18:00, prizes will be organized in based on results. of each day of the competition.

“Each day of the competition will open with a spectacular swim (theatrical number in the ice hole) and will end with the beginning of the sea with the presentation of special diplomas,” the Federation of Hardening and Winter Swimming told
