Championship and synchronized swimming championship took place in Vladivostok – Vladivostok News on VL.ru

From 18 to 19 March, the championship and the Primorsky Territory championship in synchronized swimming took place at the pool of the Olimpiets sports complex. For a whole year there were no such races and now the long-awaited beginnings took place.

Athletes from the Federal University of the Far East, the Rusich sports school and the regional sports school from Vladivostok, two teams from Nakhodka, one from Partizansk and Lesozavodsk gathered in these competitions.

“There is a whole year in our region, there are no competitions of this level. The kids, of course, have grown up, but I would like more beginnings in order for the athletes to improve their skills. “We managed to stay in shape thanks to the trips to the Russian Cup and Championship”, said the chief coach of the previous competitions, Yulia Al Bakur.

Among the best were the girls from the sports school “Rusich” – they won three gold medals.

“Even if there is no competition, we still train. In this regard we have had easier preparation for this championship and championship. But there were emotions before the performance. “We do not set ourselves the task of winning, but we want to work out our program well,” explained Stefania Nazarenko from the Rusich team.

Daria Vereshchagina from Rusich adds that, in addition to the pool, they go to the gym and athletics, as well as practice holding their breath for at least 1.5 minutes.

“The opening of the season is difficult, heavy loads, continuous training and we have long, five hours. “But this is joyful, because thanks to such training in competitions we get awards,” said Daria.

Ekaterina Ponomarenko from Partizansk, as part of the Olympic reserve school team, won two silver medals in the group and combined program.

“I have been doing synchronized swimming for 10 years. It’s cute, it’s really cute! A large number of emotions, opportunities to visit a large number of cities. Today’s races are not that difficult because we have trained, there is so much more emotional load. Today they performed well, but could have done better. “Our main competitors are the girls from the Rusich sports school and the rest of Vladivostok,” Ekaterina said.

On the second day of the competition, along with groups, duets and solos, a mixed duet was launched – Dalia Tumas and Sultan Al Bakur. In early March, they took part in the Russian championship, which took place in the city of Chekhov, and took sixth place there.

The girls from the other teams notice that they themselves would be happy to perform in mixed doubles, but it is extremely difficult to find a partner.

“A lot depends not on our desire, but on the presence of a boy and his physique. In a duet, if you want to look good, you have to have similar hands, similar lengths, because if someone is taller, it affects the aesthetic component and is very important in synchronized swimming “, said Daria Vereshchagina.
